Stephen’s has a powerful interest in methods for developing organisational and individual effectiveness. His company, Harrison International Ltd, has the core purpose of “encouraging and developing business excellence”, a mechanism for Stephen to manifest his passion. As a catalyst, he works with organisations and individuals to “facilitate change with reduced pain”.

Stephen has a passion for working with people and encouraging their success, incorporating his background in management disciplines with the needs of individuals to have personal context for what they do. He has worked with organisations in developing capabilities in strategic and project management, and has conducted extensive training throughout the Asia Pacific region and North America. Stephen coaches individuals and as a speaker focuses on individual and organisational effectiveness, especially amidst chaos, confusion, uncertainty and change.

Professional

Stephen was the founding sponsor of PMI New Zealand, serving in various capacities, including President. In 1998 Stephen became the first person elected from outside North America to the international board of PMI. He served as Director for six years and was responsible for leading the team that developed PMI’s globalisation strategy. In 2004, Stephen was made a Fellow of PMI New Zealand, and received from PMI (International) the 2004 PMI Distinguished Contribution award. These were in recognition of his service and contribution to these two organisations.

Personal

Stephen loves life, and the challenges it presents. His personal experiences with growth and strategies for creating success strengthened his interest in the parallels between effectiveness approaches for individuals and organisations.

Qualification

  • BSc (Hons.) in Computer Science, University of Auckland
  • Masters Certificate in Project Management, George Washington University
  • PMP certification, Project Management Institute.
