The Project Management Institute (PMI®) Project Management Professional (PMP®) credential is a recognised international project management certification. The exam is based on the knowledge identified in The Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK™) which is the global de facto standard and an ANSI standard for project management. To achieve this credential you must:

  • Meet criteria for eligibility, which is summarised as:
    • 4,500 hours of project management experience within the last 6 years with a bachelors degree (or equivalent); or
    • 7,500 hours of project management experience within the last 8 years with a high school diploma (or equivalent)
    • 35 hours of project management training
  • Support the PMP® Code of Professional Conduct
  • Pass the exam of 200 multi-choice questions (including 25 non-scored pre-test questions) that covers the processes of project management (141/175 is the pass mark).
