  • Initiating Founder and Trustee of Project Management Institute New Zealand (PMINZ) (1994)
  • Director of Membership, PMINZ (1994, 1995). International recognition of PMINZ for membership growth and retention during this period.
  • Developed and presented first training course for PMP exam preparation for PMINZ (1995) with 100% pass rate for first course.
  • President, PMINZ (1996)
  • Recipient, Chapter President of the Year — Region 1 award from PMI. Region 1 covered all countries except the USA.
  • Director, PMI (international body) (1998 – 2003). First person elected from outside North America to Board.
  • Led development of PMI’s globalisation strategy and the monitoring of its implementation (1999 - 2001).
  • Delegation leader to China for PMI. Met with officials of several Chinese government agencies and ministries and the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation.

Business

  • Established own business in December 1994 which focuses on strategic management, project management and leadership.
  • Project managed first fully integrated EFTPOS solution in New Zealand (1994 for Woolworths/Big Fresh)
  • Provides project management services including organisational and project reviews, coaching, methodology implementation, workshops to support project activities (E.g. reviewed Telecom's cdmaOne project for 027 network implementation)
  • Clients have included Bechtel International, Citibank, IBM, Hewlett Packard, Nokia, US Marine Corp., Maori Television Service, Telecom New Zealand Ltd, New Zealand Institute of Management, Northpower, Metrowater.
