Training Approach:

The course combines lecture, discussion and individual exercises. Course materials include sample questions (with answers, explanations and references), an extensive study guide identifying topics to focus on and explanation of key concepts, a detailed bibliography of suggested reading, exam tips and techniques, and all presentation materials used during the course. You will have eight sets of questions to work through covering the nine PMBOK™ Guide knowledge areas (Integration and Scope Management are combined). Questions are based on the books recommended by PMI® for reading and preparation, and on the Project Management Professional Examination Specification that PMI® uses as the basis for the PMP® exam.

On the first morning you will be provided with an introduction to the PMP®/CAPM® credentials, review exam taking technique, and will sit the practice exam questions required for the afternoon session. You will complete all other practice questions as homework, maximising classroom time for dissecting the knowledge areas and providing linking concepts.
Each morning and afternoon will cover one knowledge area of the PMBOK™ Guide. Additional exercises are provided to strengthen capabilities in key methods and techniques.

You will be participating in a programme that has been taught and enhanced since 1995. It was the basis for exam preparation for a number of years within the Project Management Institute New Zealand Chapter (PMINZ) and has been delivered extensively internationally. The material is under continual review and is updated to reflect the latest exam information available.

What participants have to say:

- Andy, Balclutha

Having set an objective to obtain PMP. And the struggled to find educational facilities that suited my learning requirements, this course has given me a good understanding of the PMBOK subject matter and the areas I need to focus on in preparation for the exam, with the interaction necessary for me to understand the subject matter.

- Martin, Sydney

This course was my introduction to PMBOK and formal PM theory. It opened up "a whole new world" for me in terms of my career. Stephen opens up the theory wonderfully, in a way that makes the theory practically valuable.

- Francois, Auckland

Training approach worked well and has been effective in identifying and filling gaps in my knowledge - highly recommended.
